Area V Points
Welcome, Area V competitors! After four years on the job, I finally know enough to ask y'all for a little help to make the points process quicker and more accurate.
1. Use your horse's registered name (including the Roman numeral!) on entry forms.
Do you have any idea how many horses are registered as "Shadowfax" in the USEA database? A lot, and it takes time to figure out which one is yours. So if the USEA gave you a Roman numeral, I'd be grateful if you could write it on your entry form.
And please don't use your horse's barn name ... or a newly made-up name ... on your entry forms. There's no way for me to know that "Bill" is really "Argent Flight of Fancee". If you want to change your horse's name, USEA will give you a form to fill out. (Oh, and if you do this, let me know!)
If I can't find your horse in the USEA database, I put a * by his name on the points sheet. Shoot me an email so we can straighten this out. It may be that your registration isn't posted to the web, yet ... or you used a barn name ... or something!
2. Help me figure out if you're a Jr or a Sr.
If there's a ~ by your name, it means I don't have your birthdate in my database. This information is necessary to ensure that you are ranked with your peers ... juniors and seniors. Just shoot me an email with your date of birth.
3. Check your points ... a lot!
